2023 off to a strong start!
Saturday:
Solid A day, just stayed home and chilled, and played warhammer: Gladius cause a friend gifted it to me XD
Sunday:
‘Nother A- day, went out for my beloved Golden Hill and stayed home. Also sent my letter to my friend 😀
Monday:
A-, chilled and went to Golden Hill again 😀
Tuesday:
A-, went to Wegmans and read next chap of Musuko–Crown’s little berserker kid buddy uses his power to warp the big guy to the bottom of the ocean, which thankfully he can survive, while Crown himself faces off against Nightmare, who…is revealed to be pregnant. Whoof.
Wednesday:
A- day due to bad luck :< Work was going great until I accidentally dropped a glass at the cafeteria! The people there were very nice though and said it was no big deal, so all is well. Still kinda embarassing t-t
Thursday:
A- day. Read the next ep of Kaiju No. 8–nothing really happens in this chapter, actually. The new monsters waste some of the regular troops, but other than that it’s just a faceoff with the good guys. Maybe more action will come later~ Other than that, stayed home.
Friday:
Solid A day, got my paycheck and had a good day at work, got everything done 😀
GENERAL WEEK RANK:
A thanks to a nice paycheck at the end ❤

But yeah, this game is a pretty fun hex-based 4x game. I mean that’s really pretty much all it is, the standard hex-based 4X, just with warhammer 40k units rather than generic fantasy or historical ones. But for what it is, it is indeed quite engaging! Definitely happy with it and glad my friend bought it for me, I’ve spent more than enough happy hours with it to recommend this for purchase!
BOOK READAN:
Lotta horror this week.
The Great White Space by Basil Copper. Very much like Lovecraft’s At the Mountains of Madness, an academic photographer goes on a trip to some mountains in China or Mongolia (the exact location is kept secret) with some other academics to investigate some mysterious hieroglyphs and, as you can expect, uncovers evil monstrosities FROM THE BEYOND! It’s very well written, really captures Lovecraft’s writing style, but I found it somewhat derivative and the final “revelation” at the end didn’t do much for me. 4/5 stars.
A couple short story collections from John Langan:
Corpsemouth: All of these were generally strong, though I found that in most of them Langan had someone explain what the plot/mystery was to the reader at the very end. Not terrible, but odd the same plot development was made for most of the stories in here. Ah, well. 4/5.
Mr. Gaunt: Very spooky set of short stories, though I found the zombie apocalypse one very hard to read due to the choice of narrative structure (Whole thing was kind of like a run on sentence). 4/5.
MANGA READAN:
What I said above.
WRITAN:
Nothin much.
BUCKET LIST PROGRESS
1: Finish up a second big project – About 60% done with this, actually
2: Get Dragonar onto its BDs-Gonna have to work on this again in a few weeks…
3: Maybe finish up a 3rd big project related to Berserk-This will be on hold for a loooong time while Mori-sensei finishes it up.
4: Obviously, get all my affairs in order–will, etc.
5: Finish a FOURTH big project I’ve had thoughts about for a while. Won’t say much more about it other than it involves Visual Novels.
6: *maybe* finish up a fic I’ve always wanted to put out. But this is really extra.
7: Read the end of Girl Genius. At least I got to see Lucrezia kicked out of Agatha’s mind, so that’s something.
8: Play Front Mission 5.
9: Play Brigandine: Grand Edition. I think I’ll work on these emulation related things when I get a new computer–a new deskie, I mean. I do have a new deskie, though, but I’ll hold off on the fun stuff until I’m done with everything else.
w00t~
