Living the Good Life, Episode 95 (August 18, 2018): More job huntan!

Woo–hoo! Reasonably productive week, my friends. I didn’t get as much work done on my secret projects as I would have liked, but that’s because I was occupied with jerb huntin! The lowdown:

Not much this week, though I hear One-Punch Man Season 2 is coming in…2019. Man, what a wait. Ah, well.

Star and Sky still busy, and I’ve been busy with my job stuff too.

I played a bit of Monster Hunter World, though not too much cause I’ve been busy. I played a LOT of Monster Hunter Freedom on the PSP, and I mean a lot–tons and tons of it. Honestly, though, nowadays…getting back into Monster Hunter years after I started, I can’t help but feel it’s a lot like Vindictus. They play similarly–online-focused action RPGs where you fight giant monsters and construct better weapons from the pieces of those monsters–though Monster Hunter takes place in a more upbeat fantasy setting than the darker, conspiracy-laden setting of Vindictus.

Eh, I guess its ok…the changes take a lot of time to get used to. The basic controls are similar to Monster Hunter Freedom, but there’s soooo much new stuff, like little cat companions, research, that sort of thing. There are a couple new weapons, it’s easier in some respects (you don’t need to take paintballs to track monsters, there are HP powerups in stage, etc.). On the other hand, it looks really really nice. Lush jungles, scary monsters that behave like living things (such as eating other monsters), and so on. But yeah, I’m not totally addicted to this, though it is really really beautiful, which makes it worth it. Maybe if I fight a tough monster soon I’ll take videos of it.

Other than that, I’ve been playing more Total War: Warhammer II. Beat the Skaven campaign! 😀 All that’s left is the skellington campaign…

Not much in terms of book-reading this week, been busy with…

Not much on my projects, but several job applications. Can’t say much about them, but I’ve been sending my resume out to a variety of places–one customer service job that takes calls, another customer service job that’s in-person at a store, another interesting one (I hope I get it, but it’s a bit of a long shot) that involves both my subject in history but might also require me to learn to use a certain computer program, and a couple others. Let’s hope something comes through, though I don’t want to say much more since who knows if I’ll get any of them. The job market is tough these days! If those don’t go through, let’s see what my next step will be. Still looking through and the cragislist jobs ads, there are a bunch of those 😮

Well, on to next week…if I don’t hear back about any of my job applications, I’ll go back to working on my project 😀
