Writing Log #9

Mmmm…not as much progress as I would have liked, but yet again, not little enough to really disappoint me. I got about 5000 words done on Wayward Son’s latest chapter this week, when I was hoping to get 5000 words done on it per day. However, I’ve also put a lot of work into the chapter that’s coming out at the end of this month–chapter 64. It is a *heck* of a doozy, at nearly 30,000 words, the longest I’ve ever written! Writing it had a lot of challenges, which I’ll talk about later. For the purposes of this writing log, though, suffice it to say that putting the finishing touches on chapter 64 is enough of a success to offset not making much progress on chapter 66. If I can finish chapter 66 by the end of this month, I’ll be satisfied.

The shift to a more “slice of life” fic is taking a toll on my productivity, though, along with a lot of stuff I’m dealing with IRL. I have to set up my dorm room for when I go back to graduate school, for instance. Still, I should be able to finish the next chapter by the 30th, though it may be a long one as well. And once I do, starting next month I’ll *try* to get 2 chapters a month done. At this rate, though, I may have to revise my estimated time of exit from the Fire Emblem fandom entirely…x-x Maybe I’ll finally leave at around early 2016 rather than early 2015, as I said D: We’ll see, though. I’ve made some good friends recently and even though I haven’t been playing the FE games, I don’t feel like I have to leave the fandom quite so soon, these days 😀

  1. Apologies if you’ve talked about this before, but I’m curious – have you ever thought about doing original writing after you’re done with Wayward Son? You’re a pretty good writer!

    1. Haha, thanks! I’ve thought a bit about it, though I’m not really sure. Maybe later, and through self-publishing or something.

You’re certainly the best writer I’ve ever read!
